Sharp on tax. Solid on the numbers. Straight with you.
Saymur is a chartered firm of accountants and tax advisers based in Harrow, established in 2004, and we now look after more than 1,500 UK businesses and private clients. We do the compliance work you're obliged to do, and we use it as the starting point for the tax advice that actually changes what you end up paying.
People you'll actually know by name.

The wider team

Why Saymur exists.
The firm was founded in 2004 because the partners kept meeting business owners whose accounts were technically correct and yet had never been used to help them make a single decision, and we wanted to run a practice where the person preparing the numbers is also the person advising on them.
Getting the accounts filed on time is the part everybody sees, but most of the value sits in the questions that surround them, such as how you take money out of the business, how it should be structured as it grows, and what happens to it when you sell it or hand it to the next generation. Our tax work is led by a Chartered Tax Adviser who trained in private client tax at a big-four firm, and the CTA remains the highest tax qualification in the UK.
We're an independent, ICAEW-regulated firm, which in practice means you deal with the same people year after year and your questions are answered by whoever already knows your numbers.
What we believe.
Sharp on tax
We look at the tax position before your year end rather than after it, because by the time the accounts are drafted most of the useful decisions have already been made for you.
Plain English, always
You can't make a sensible decision about something you've had explained in jargon, so we talk it through the way we'd explain it to a friend who happened to ask.
Straight with you
We'll tell you what we'd do if the business were ours, and that occasionally means saying something you were hoping not to hear.
